Once again the BUILT Network program superseded their employment targets for the fiscal year. With final numbers in, the Customer Service Skills Development program served 348 persons with mental health issues and supported 245 of those served to enhance their employability. 164 program participants entered the workforce and 22 others went back to school. On February 15, 2008, the Mental Health Commission of Canada announced the appointment of new President and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Howlett. Mr. Howlett brings with him a lengthy history of service to the private and public sector which will benefit the Mental Health Commission of Canada as it moves forward.

In February our BUILT Network project in New Westminster B.C. was featured on Vancouver Chinese television and radio news stations news as well as Chinese and Korean newspapers detailing the services which we are providing for new Canadians in the community. Many persons of Asian descent are enrolling in our eight-week program and the over 90% successful employment placement and retention rates are truly incredible.
