Board Member Application

Hello and thank you for your interest in serving on the Board of the National Network for Mental Health (NNMH). We look forward to hearing about you.

The NNMH is a not-for-profit national charity. We are the only non-diagnostic mental health consumer network that is operated by people with lived experience of psychosocial disabilities. We are an inclusive grassroots organization and our partners include the disability and deaf communities who struggle with psychosocial disabilities and mental health issues.

National Network for Mental Health acts to advocate, educate, and offer expertise and resources to increase the health and well being of people with lived experience of mental health problems, living in Canada.  NNMH delivers a collective of inclusive voices to advocate for human rights and social justice for the creation of an inclusive framework for mental health communications. We offer resources and training in best practices of peer-informed interventions through education and health promotion!

We need you to know a few things.

  1. To be a board member in Canada you must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. As a board member you must be comfortable with disclosing that you have direct experience with mental health issues. This is to ensure that you understand that direct experience is what makes us unique, and you must be okay to identify if asked. That would be a yes or no answer; no one needs to know your details.
  3. Our board members must be willing to support our fundraising efforts, attend monthly or by-monthly board meetings and participate on one committee in addition to supporting any fundraising events.

Thanks, and please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions!
