EMOTIONAL CPR

Emotional CPR (e-CPR) is a certificate program that was developed by Dr. Dan Fisher from the National Empowerment Centre.

Emotional CPR is a tool, meant to “resuscitate” those who are in a mental health crisis through peer-to-peer support and to empower the average person into being able to handle and learn from their mental health experiences.

Much like the widely recognized concept of physical CPR, E-CPR provides a method for instructing people on providing crucial assistance during challenging emotional periods.  It is a holistic modality that can be implemented in a variety of circumstances, beyond the workplace, into day-to-day life, and in underprivileged communities where emotional distress may be more prevalent but where mental health care is difficult to access.

The training is a 12-hour certificate program which can be broken down into three, 4-hour sessions or two 8-hour sessions. The training can be given virtually or in person and is offered to groups.

Recognizing the diverse nature of those seeking support, Emotional CPR training is not only inclusive of individuals of all ages but also extends its reach to French-speaking participants.  This training is perfect for professional development days for companies, schools, first responders, and more.
